Hemangioblastoma Overview:
- They account for about %2 of brain tumors and %10 of tumors in posterior fossa.
- Mean age of patients with hemangioblastom is 20-40 years with a male predominance.
- Radiographically they are typically a cystic tumor in the cerebellum with enhancing mural nodule.
- They can be differentiated from renal cell carcinoma with immunohistochemistry (positive for vimentin and negative for EMA).
- Metastatis and glioma are the main differential diagnosis.
