Case Presentation: MCA Anuerysm - Case 1
History and Physical
- 69-year-old lady who presented with severe headache, somnulence, and global aphasia (inability to speak or understand language).
Imaging
CT scan of patient’s brain shown subarachnoid hemorrhage.
 Cerebral angiography shows a left middle cerebral artery (MCA) aneurysm.
Surgical Procedure
- She underwent left pterional craniotomy with micro-clipping of this aneurysm utilizing intra-operative neurophysiological monitoring.
Post op Angiography

- Post op cerebral angiography shows complete treatment of this aneurysm.
Post op Course
- She was discharged from the hospital with no complication. Her speech returned to normal. Aside from some memory loss she returned to normal function and remains free of any aneurysm.
