Oligodendroglioma Overview:
- Oligodendroglioma is a well-differentiated, slow-growing cortical and subcortical brain tumor.
- Peak age is 35 to 40 years with no sex predominance.
- Patients usually present with seizures.
- Location usually involves the subcortical white matter and cortex.
- Best diagnostic clue radiographically is calcified subcortical or cortical mass in middle-aged adults.
- Up to 85% are supratentorial.
- Frontal lobe is the most common location.
- It has a higher frequency of hemorrhage than other glial tumors.
